Jose Pinero is the Top Coach for Hispanic/Latino/Latinx corporate professionals, and the Founder & Chief Mentor at Latino Leadership Performance (LLP), a diversity consulting firm that helps organizations better understand and nurture their Latino employees via professional development courses, leadership development programs, coaching, keynotes, and seminars.

As an ICF Certified Coach and ICF Foundation Board Trustee, Jose helps people build better careers and life. He specializes in helping individuals assert their worth, grow, and succeed in life and the workplace.

Jose is super passionate about empowering the under-valued and helping them realize their full potential. His personal goal is to educate, empower, and elevate 1 million Latinos by 2025.

Jose has coached professionals from companies such as Air Products, Amazon, AT&T, Bank of America, Citigroup, Cloudflare, Dow, Empower, Environmental Defense Fund, F5 Networks, Facebook/Meta, Genentech, Google, IBM, Icertis, Kellogg’s, Lululemon, Merck, Microsoft, NBCUniversal, Nike, Shutterstock, Starbucks, Symetra, Twitter, Under Armour, Unilever, U.S. Cellular, Walmart, Whirlpool, and many others. Jose has taught or facilitated seminars on leadership development, career advancement, communications, values, strategic planning, and negotiations to corporate clients. He has a unique skillset: business and career coaching, 20+  years Fortune 100 experience, turning around and bringing back growth to a $48 million business, creating and running business initiatives globally and across international regions, leading Diversity and Multicultural efforts in the tech industry, being a gifted storyteller, and applying strategic and systemic approaches to complex problems. 

Prior to LLP, Jose was the Vice President of the Marketplace unit, a $48 million annual revenue media business at Marchex, a publicly-traded company. He turned around a declining business and delivered 22% year-over-year growth. Before that, he was a Principal at YOJ Creative, a boutique marketing agency whose clients included Starbucks, Microsoft Corp., Google, and the Nobel Peace Prize. Jose spent 18 years at Microsoft in a variety of marketing and strategy roles for categories such as new devices, Xbox, entertainment initiatives, business solutions, games, and consumer offerings.

For half a decade, he led the diversity and multicultural marketing initiative for all of Microsoft. In this role, Jose was the voice of Microsoft to the U.S. Hispanic community and an advocate for Latino opportunities. Before Microsoft, Jose performed brand management at Procter & Gamble. 

Jose is credentialed as an Associate Certified Coach by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and holds a Master in Business Administration from Georgetown University and a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University. He also completed the UCLA Latino Leadership Institute, Northwestern University Executive Marketing programs, Coach U Core Essentials for Coaching Certification, and has 20+ years of experience in coaching and mentorship.

Jose served on the Board of Directors of the ICF (International Coaching Federation) Foundation, was the Chairman of the Board of Directors for Hopelink, Seattle Eastside’s leading community services organization, and co-chaired its capital campaign. He also was a Board Member of Global Partnerships, an organization dedicated to expanding opportunities for impoverished people via microfinancing, and the Institute for Sustainable Diversity and Inclusion (ISDI).

Jose has received several awards, including the 2024 Top 15 Coaches in Nashville, 2022 “100 Rising Diverse Founders”, Latin Business Magazine’s “Top 100 U.S. Hispanics to Watch”, “Top 100 Prominent Latinos in the Business World”, the National Urban League’s Donald H. McGannon Service Award and Defining Trends Magazine’s “Latino Trendsetters” award. He has been a keynote speaker or panelist at top companies, universities, and critical diversity events, including the NCLR, National Urban League, US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce conventions, Hispanicize, and Future of Latin Media – Convergence conferences. He has been featured in Business Insider, podcasts, and top Latino TV & radio outlets such as Univision, Telemundo, CNN en Espanol, and public broadcasting stations.

Jose hosts a podcast, Success Stories, where he interviews leaders who inspire through their advice and experiences.

Jose plays the electric guitar in his spare time, reads psychology books, travels, and spends time with his loved ones. He is a lover of music and trivia and was a member of the Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences (Grammys). He divides his time between Nashville, Seattle, and Puerto Rico.
